Professional Issues The AEU represents the professional as well as the industrial interests of its members. It is the most important professional body for workers in public education in Australia. Professional issues are central to the everyday work of all of its members. The AEU has an extensive and expanding professional role which includes research, advocacy, the promotion of discussion and debate, policy development, professional development, resource provision, professional networks, and the publication of a professional journal.
